Veronica Mars, the 2004 neo-noir teen drama television series ended back in 2007, upsetting fans everywhere. I was sad too, but if we’re being honest, it just wasn’t the same when she was in the FBI. Anyway, that doesn’t matter because they’re making a movie!
Fans have been asking for a movie for a while now, but without the money there was no way Rob or the cast could do it. After years of talk and rumors, Rob Thomas finally decided to make it a Kickstarter project, giving the fans their chance to finance the film. Movies are pretty expensive to make and this The Veronica Mars movie is no exception.
On March 13th, 2013 the Veronica Mars Movie Kickstarter goal was set at $2,000,000 with 30 days to raise it. Within the first day, the $2,000,000 goal had been reached and money continued to roll in. As of this writing, there are still 21 days left and they’re over $1,000,000 over their original goal of $2,000,000. If you were a fan of Veronica Mars, or even if you just like Kristen Bell, now is your chance to make history. They’ve set up all kinds of different backer rewards and starting at $35 you get a copy of the film when it comes out.

Just a friendly reminder that the latest installation of the Lord of the Rings franchise, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, is now ownable and watchable at homeable on DVD and Blu-Ray…able.
Go to any store in the United States to pick up the DVD / Blu-Ray / UV combo pack, or snag it over on Amazon.
You can also pick up the The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack – Special Edition which, let’s face it, brings a tear to my eye every time I hear the song Old Friends.

Martin Rietze photographed an erupting volcano near the village of Sakurajima in Japan. Not only was the volcano sending lava bombs flying through the air, the volcano created a lightning storm that lasted long enough for Martin to commit the whole thing to digital memory for us to see.

Martin was also skilled enough to land his picture on the NASA Astronomy Photo of the Day web page, and for good reason.
