Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles Cancelled, Old News at WB Studios

Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles

UPDATE:With news that Halcyon is filing for bankruptcy and looking at selling the Terminator rights, the chances of a TSCC follow-up are getting slimmer every day.

UPDATE: A network insider reports that “It’s done. Everyone has pretty much known for a couple of weeks. Consider it canceled.” FOX will be announcing their Fall schedule on May 18th and their official stance is that they have not yet made a decision.

The upside of it all is that the show went out with quite a bang. After our longest stint without actually seeing any cool Terminator action, WB managed to pull through for us.

Lanie Grace posted an article outing Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles as canceled. During a tour of the WB Studios in Burbank, when asked if there was anything particular they would like to see, Grace mentioned that she’d love to see the TSCC set. The answer the tour guide gave her had her taken aback: “It’s all gone sweety, they tore it down a couple weeks ago–everything.” He continued, saying that “everyone around there has known that for a few weeks already. Its fairly common knowledge at WB.”

Obviously, Warner Brothers wouldn’t announce the cancellation in the home-stretch of the last season, but the ratings were already spiraling downward. Ratings of the show are just okay, but with all the newfangled TiVos and DVRs, everyone skips over the commercials. Many fans blame the shows cancellation on this lack of revenue, but in reality the show has been slower than ever. Had they thrown in some action and furthered the story a little, there would be far less problems. Progressing the story leads to more viewers, which in turn leads to the show actually making money. We loved the idea of TSCC and we’re sad to see it go, but if the show had kept moving forward, they would have been in an all around better place.
