Bioshock Caught "In A Holding Pattern"

She Rode Him Like The State Fair And They Went Off Like Two Solar Flares
Bad news concerning the economy is everywhere and even seems to stretch even to the bottom of the ocean.

According to Variety, Universal is looking at moving pre-production for the BioShock film adaptation outside the US to “take advantage of a tax credit.” This would involve moving the production of the movie from Los Angeles to London. With this and talks of “budget restructuring,” we’re very scared for the fate of this movie. Verbinski and crew are currently caught “in a holding pattern,” which really just means the film has technically started pre-production but everything has been put on hold. If you remember, this was the same term used to describe both The Hobbit and Halo movies.

The only (slightly) good news is that Verbinski and the studio have “vowed to not allow the BioShock movie to succumb to the same fate as the perpetually on-again, off-again Halo film.” Of all the films they could do this to, BioShock is one that we want to see the turn out well. Their “vows” mean very little, and until we see some real progress I’ll be wary of the way this movie will turn out.
