Lanie Grace updated us once again on the fate of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and its actually pretty good news. Her sources inside WB and NBC let her know that Halcyon and Warner Brothers have been shopping TSCC around under the radar after FOX decided not to renew.
Among other disclosed news, FOX was very surprised that TSCC didn’t do as well as expected considering it was part of a “billion dollar, 25 year old franchise.” In fact, they were quoted as calling it “outright embarrassing”.
FOX brought TSCC to Sci-Fi to have them pick it up. Sci-Fi is leaning toward yes, but they voiced their need for creative control early on. Sci-Fi, among many others, decided that TSCC is entirely too serialized for the show to survive among general audiences. This closes the show off to new viewers which obviously tanks the ratings.
“Sci-Fi wants to develop the show into a more episodic series therefore potentially opening up the show to a desperately needed larger audience. One good thing about the episodic style of writing is that it lends itself well to an action packed show, which is what we all love about The Terminator Franchise anyway, right?”
Sci-Fi is headed in the right direction, especially considering our major qualm with the show stemmed from the lack of action, too few Terminators and so much non-terminator based drama it almost lost us.

That could be good news, although I disagree that the drama almost lost me. I prefer that to mindless action. If SciFi wants to make it more like BSG (which is more drama than action), that’s cool. If they want to make it more like their SciFi movies (which are all action and no brains), then I’d prefer it stay non-renewed.
you make it seem like the only choice is all ‘mindless action’ and ‘no brains’ or all drama. a good show finds the balance of both meaningful action and drama. in this case, i’m pretty sure most people don’t want mindless action but rather some sci-fi/action to go with their drama. otherwise they’re just using the terminator property to disguise yet another mundane night time drama.
its 2011 i still whant tscc on t.v. man shite fuck it ther all gone now
