The FX 2009 Vinyl Art Jam

The Vinyl Art Jam at the 2009 FX International Show marked the second annual vinyl customizing event to benefit the American Cancer Society. Artists were each given a vinyl figure, paints and 90 minutes to customize their very own person-shaped Mez-it provided by Mezco. Plenty of awesome artists participated, as well as others attending the FX International Show, and we got pictures of some of our favorites.

Lots of people took part in the Art Jam and there were some really awesome results, but sadly we didn’t get a chance to photograph them all. Pictured below, from left to right, are the works of Jeremy Haun, Sean “Cheeks” Galloway, Jim Mahfood, Dave Johnson and J. Etheridge:

Jeremy Haun decided to use the Mez-it to create a pretty awesome Jason replica. He also used his unparalleled ingenuity to craft a machete out of cardboard and a paintbrush (Photo credit: B. Clay Moore):

Dave Johnson did one in his own style, and it turned out great. His teeth always add that extra-unique flavor:

All-in-all, the 2009 FX Show Vinyl Art Jam was awesome. All of the painted figures will soon be put up for auction and all proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.
