Video Games
In April we reported that Bioshock was caught in a holding pattern, which just means production for the movie had stopped, but will continue at some point. Gore Verbinski, the current head of the film-making process for the Bioshock movie says that the movie “could still get made, but likely in a foreign country that offers tax breaks for movie makers.” This is a step away from when Verbinksi “vowed to not allow the BioShock movie to succumb to the same fate as the perpetually on-again, off-again Halo film.”
So far the movie has been on, its off now and “could” be on again sometime in the future and Verbinksi is now “doubtful” that it will be made.
Verbinski is also looking to get into the games business saying that, “It’s a mistake for Hollywood to impose themselves on the gaming space. Not only is it arrogant, but it hasn’t really worked.” Hopefully this quote holds a little more truth than his last one.
