The General on Zombieland

A General Tod review of:
Atomik Loved Zombieland

So…I’ll begin by admitting I had no interest in this film…at all. Sure, there was the Zombie angle pullin’ me hard to the left, but my indifference with any NON-Mickey Knox Woody Harrelson vehicle was practically throwing me off the cliff to the right. DID. NOT. CARE. Thankfully my “WATCH EVERYTHING, NO MATTER WHAT” rule (everybody needs one) kicked in and allowed me to have a GREAT time in Zombieland!!

Seriously, this flick, while VERY aware of itself, is so much fun I can’t recommend it enough…well, I could, but you’d think I was some kind of hired shill. NAY SIR!! First, Michael Cera is great!! Actually, it’s some other kid…but really…Michael Cera had to have gotten a bump somewhere cuz, Dude, yer stealin’ his act (Oh, and Mila Kunis is on the line too, honey…so…yeah). There’s kind of a slow 10 minutes after the really solid first act that you’ll be richly rewarded for getting through, trust me when I say you’ll want to catch this flick early enough to where…You know how in the weeks after a release the TV spots start showing more and more of the flick to try to reel you in? That one scene or ultra-cool thing that would’a been sooooo much cooler had you seen it on opening night? That one bit the guy at the office just HAS to tell you about Friday effin’ morning cuz he saw the midnight Thursday show…yeah…THIS is the part they’re gonna ruin!! I promise!! It’s too much of a Win to not!! RUN AWAY!!…Punch your friend in the face and RUN AWAY!!…even if you’re not talking about this film…punch your friend in the face!! THIS I COMMAND!!

Zombieland is great fun, and NOT just in comparisan to the abysmal summer fare few of us narrowly escaped. It’s all the best bits of a Zombiegeddon wrapped up in a funny, gory, slimy, little bow and I can’t wait for everyone to open it up!! There was one kid in front of me actually throwing his fists up and cheering…alot…but he was kind of a douche. Forget that kid. Go see this flick, even if you don’t like Woody…hell, even if you don’t like zombies…Oh, and I think…maybe I’m just projecting my needs on the universe…but I think Little Miss Sunshine drops the F-bomb…I could be making that up.
