Be F cking Awesome

UPDATE: Tosh.0 judged the site rather harshly, though it would seem as if he didn’t take a look around or even read what it was actually about.

Be Fucking AwesomeEverybody wants to be awesome. Whether they admit it or not, everybody knows that being totally awesome beats the alternative. While many people may think they’re awesome, and some even go so far as to proclaim they’re awesome, it’s often too subjective to tell. Until now.

Be F*cking Awesome is a site that tracks any and all of the awesome deeds you’ve done. (It could be considered NSFW if your boss doesn’t like the look of the F-word in your header, so be wary.)

After a very quick (non-email verified) sign-up, you can enter your Awesome Deeds, referred to as FAdeeds. In 150 characters or less, describe whatever deed you performed that you think is awesome and it’s posted to the front page. By dragging a slider, other BFAers vote on your FAdeeds with a number from 1 to 200. Your votes then average into your Awesome Quotient giving everyone you know a real-world look at just how F*cking Awesome you are.

The site allows you to add other BFAers as friends as well as invite people you know through networks like GMail, Facebook, MySpace, Friendster and Yahoo. You can also have BFA automatically post to your Twitter or Facebook and be notified via email or SMS when your FAdeeds are scored by others.

My first concern with the site was the fear that flocks of people would post wildly untrue (read:stupid) FAdeeds and get upvoted by the rest of the flocks of people that think things like “punching babies” and “something about Chuck Norris” are cool. So far the site suffers none of these stupidities and, in fact, endorses upvoting actual awesome stuff:

For example, deeds that contribute to saving our planet should get higher scores. Deeds that contribute to the welfare of those less fortunate should also be rewarded handsomely. Volunteering, donating to causes, same thing. Higher scores should be tough to get. But in the end, it’s up to you.

If you have a few seconds and you aren’t at work (or don’t mind a tasteful f-bomb in the header) sign up for BeF*ckingAwesome.com. Invite your friends, share your awesome deeds and show the world your life can be quantified by a number assigned by absolute strangers.
