One of the most widely circulated nuggets of information regarding The Imaginarium of Doctor P. is that the main character Tony was to be portrayed by the late Heath Ledger. Ledger’s tragic passing partway through filming caused a halt in production and a recasting to make the movie work. The decision was made that Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell would portray different iterations of Tony’s character throughout his adventure.
