OK Go has outdone themselves again. First it was the Invincible video, which was interesting for being out of the ordinary. Then they gave us the treadmill dance in Here It Goes Again that truly redefined the word viral (the video has since garnered over 49 million hits on YouTube). It’s no surprise really but at some point you have to ask yourself, how much further can the bar be raised?
On March 1st, OK Go debuted their latest master work, the video for This Too Shall Pass, from their latest album Of The Blue Colour Of The Sky. This particular version was filmed in a two story warehouse in Los Angeles. The Rube Goldberg Machine (or RGM) featured in the video was designed and built by the band with the help of Syyn Labs over the course of several months.
Since its debut, the video has received close to 3 million hits, a number that will likely climb exponentially in the coming weeks. For the benefit of those who haven’t seen it, we’ve included it above. Those who have seen it can use this as an excuse to experience it yet again.
OK Go also released Making of TTSP, a video in four parts about the construction of “The Machine”.
