Retro Video Game Propaganda (With Answers)

We’ve all donated a few quarters to the causes of our favorite vivacious video game heroes but now that arcades are populating more and more “When I was your age” stories, it’s a decidedly less prominent pastime. This drop in pump-in-quarters and rise in at-home Videogametry hasn’t stopped (and likely helped to inspire) the creation of the posters you see below.

Designed by Steve Thomas in the style of wartime propaganda, they ask that you “do your part” and “donate your quarters” to help keep the worlds involved safe. Try and guess which posters belong to which games (You can mouse over the blacked out text for the answers).

Donkey Kong

Dig Dug

Frogger

Joust

Galaga

Space Invaders

Ghosts n’ Goblins

Pac-Man

Spy Hunter

Missile Command

Asteriods

Centipede

The posters became so popular (and rightly so) that ThinkGeek decided to turn them into actual products!
