Over the course of a summer, 9 year old Caine built and ran his very own arcade out of his father’s auto parts store. He built the games out of extra cardboard boxes and used his old toys as the prizes. Sadly, the walk-up traffic of used auto-part stores just isn’t what it used to be and it’s even worse for cardboard arcades.

Despite this, Caine wasn’t deterred in the slightest. Every day they’re open, Caine can be found sitting in his office, donning his Caine’s Arcade staff shirt, sweeping and cleaning as needed. This was the way things went for quite some time, until Nirvan Mullick showed up looking for a handle for his car door.

Nirvan was Caine’s very first real customer, and seeing how much work Caine had put into his cardboard, roadside arcade, Nirvan purchased a fun pass and went to town. Caine’s enthusiasm pressed Nirvan to ask Caine’s father if he could tell the world Caine’s story, invite a bunch of people to play at the arcade and commit the entire thing to video. It’s enough to bring a person to tears.

This short documentary has sparked an enormous following on Facebook as well as the start of the Caine’s Arcade Foundation, devoted to discovering, fostering, and funding creativity and entrepreneurship in young kids that have the creativity and drive that Caine has.

Warner Brothers is releasing a 31 disc version of the entire Harry Potter film series, complete with a fancy magic box that houses it all. The set includes all 8 films and some untold ridiculous amount of extra stuff, essential for die-hard Potter fans everywhere.

If you haven’t seen the live-action teaser trailer for Mass Effect 3, you should get that out of the way first. Afterward, take a look at these behind-the-scenes shots of this Commander Shepard impostor saving the world. I’m not sure what it is, but live action video game commercials always do something for me. I guess it doesn’t hurt that Mass Effect 3 is the suspense-filled climax of an epic series, but the commercial is awesome nonetheless.

Recently I’ve started watching (and enjoying the crap out of) the Destructoid.com web series Hey Ash Whatcha Playin’?. The show stars two siblings and the videos all tend to start the same way, with Anthony asking the simple and obvious question, “Hey Ash, whatcha playin’?”. The video from that moment on becomes (and often devolves into) an entirely unique animal.

This particular episode of HAWP, the one concerning Uncharted 2, caught my eye. People have made connections between Nathan Drake and Nathan Fillion before but this video highlights them down to a bullet wound. Ash’s reaction to these particular revelations matches my own quite well.
